Reality TV star and influencer Tacha Akide has sparked a wave of online discussions after opening up about the financial struggles faced by many Nigerians living in the United Kingdom.
“People Abroad Are Struggling Too” – Tacha Says
In a recent video, the former BBNaija housemate, now based in the UK, shared her thoughts on the reality of life abroad. Contrary to common belief, she said that many Nigerians in the UK are not financially secure.
Tacha explained that while many people in Nigeria believe those living abroad are automatically rich, the truth is quite different. She stated that the high cost of living in the UK has left many people barely surviving.
“You see those of you always having inferiority complex in Nigeria, thinking everyone here is rich most people here are broke,” she said.
“Nigeria Might Be Easier for Some”
She added that, based on her observation, some Nigerians are actually living more comfortably at home than their counterparts abroad.
“Trust me when I tell you that the living situation here is not rosy,” she warned.
“You can spend ₦300k on a taxi in one day, and ₦1 million on a car in a week unless you use the train.”
Tacha advised anyone planning to relocate to the UK not to assume that life will be easy just because it’s abroad. Instead, she encouraged careful financial planning and realistic expectations.
