NEWS:Signage Agency Bans Unapproved Advertisement In Kogi

Kogi State Signage and Advertising Agency has announced the prohibition of advertisement and publicity materials without obtaining the agency’s approval.

In a statement by the agency general manager, Richard Osaseyi, it has become illegal for any type of publicity material to be displayed without following due process.

Osaseyi noted that in accordance to the laws that established the agency, citizens must not paste handbill, poster, banner, notice, sign or advertisement on side-walks, tree, bridges, abutment, public dustbin hydrant, highway or on any street without the permission of the agency.

He explained that the signage and advertising agency is saddled with the responsibilities, in consultation and collaboration with the local governments in the state, of controlling outdoor structures, branded mobile vehicles and equipment, street directional signs, brand activations, branded house numbering, branded bus shelters and street furniture.

He added that the agency is out to sanction any individual or organization who refuse to comply with the directive.
