Governor Usman Ododo has reaffirmed his strong commitment to empowering the youth of Kogi State through increased investment in technical education and skill acquisition programs.
This assurance was delivered by the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, during a courtesy visit to the Nigerian-Korean Friendship Institute (NKFI) on Friday, where he conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the institution’s facilities and met with the management team.
Governor Ododo emphasized that promoting technical education and skill development is crucial in addressing unemployment, youth restiveness, and crime. He reiterated that, as stated in his inaugural speech, youth empowerment remains a central focus of his administration’s agenda. The government is determined to achieve this goal by providing access to vocational training and skill acquisition opportunities for young people.
The Rector of NKFI, Williams Charles Oluwatoyin, expressed his gratitude to Governor Ododo for his continued efforts in ensuring that the institution fulfills its mandate. He assured the Commissioner that NKFI is fully committed to supporting the government’s vision for youth empowerment.
Oluwatoyin also acknowledged the unwavering support of Hon. Wemi Jones and other key stakeholders, whose efforts have contributed to the success of the institution. He praised the state government for recognizing the importance of technical education and for providing the necessary attention and resources to NKFI’s growth.
