Davido Surprises Fans With Backup Career Plan in Journalism
Afrobeats superstar Davido has surprised fans by revealing a surprising career interest outside music: journalism.
In a recent interview on Beat 96.1 FM, the singer shared how much he enjoys interviews and media conversations. While most artists see promo rounds as tiring, Davido finds them exciting and meaningful.
“I’ve been doing crazy promo for my album not easy. I don’t have to do promo, but I like it,” he said. “I enjoy talking. Aside from business management, I studied marketing, so it comes naturally.”
Davido said he enjoys conversations and learning new things. He believes that talking is a big part of being an artist. For him, staying connected and informed is essential.
“When people meet me, I want to know things. I love information. I watch CNN every morning, and I’m always researching at home,” he explained.
The artist added that if he wasn’t in music, he would likely go into journalism or start a podcast. He believes his ability to communicate is a big part of his connection with fans.
“People ask why I get the most follows. It’s because I tap in. I stay visible and always work.”
