A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Senate to reinstate Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, ruling her six-month suspension illegal.
Justice Binta Nyako stated that, although lawmakers can face sanctions, an entire district should not lose representation.
Meanwhile, the court found Senator Natasha guilty of contempt over a satirical Facebook post. Consequently, she must pay a N5 million fine and publish an apology in two national newspapers and on her Facebook page within seven days.
Therefore, the Senate is expected to comply and restore her to office.
