Uriel Oputa, the ex-Big Brother Naija housemate turned media personality, has demonstrated a heartwarming display of kindness by volunteering to take in a baby who was found abandoned along a riverside in Kogi State.
As seen in a viral video posted on social media by a resident, the baby girl was found crying along the Niger Bridge in the Ajaokuta area by a local elder. Some of her personal items such as clothes meant for a baby and a wrapper were found along with the baby.
The community leader stated that local authorities had been notified and that the baby would remain under community care until further steps could be taken to trace her mother.
Uriel Reacts with Compassion
Moved by the video, Uriel went to the comments section of a blog posting the video and declared that she would love to take in the child. She wrote in her impassioned plea:
“Let me take her. She will never be hungry.”
While it has not yet become clear if Uriel has officially reached out to the relevant authorities to start the adoption process, her public announcement has evoked admiration and support from fans and social media users.

In 2023, she disclosed that she struggled with amenorrhea—a medical state described as the absence of menstruation—for four years. The performer referred to it as the “lowest point” in her life and stated that medical experts once informed her that she would perhaps never become pregnant. Now 36 years old, Uriel’s adoption suggestion represents not only an instant of kindness but an deep sense of purpose and healing.
