A proud son of Ayegunle Gbede in Kogi State, Abdulrasheed Mubarak, has been appointed as the National Secretary of the SDGs National Students Council under the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement.

The appointment was officially announced in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, July 4, 2025, by the National Coordinator of the Council, Ambassador Timothy Nwachukwu.

Abdulrasheed, a recent Law graduate from Bayero University, Kano, is a passionate SDGs Advocate and Climate Justice Champion, widely recognized for his commitment to youth development, sustainable governance, and environmental advocacy. He has led several impactful community projects and remains a vocal champion for the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

His emergence under the chairmanship of Comrade Sunday Asefon, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement, is seen as a bold move to drive inclusive youth participation and leadership in national development.

Congratulations have continued to pour in from across the country, with many expressing optimism about his capacity to deliver in this new national role.
