2025 BET Awards Nigerian nominees
The 2025 BET Awards nominations are out, and Nigerian talent is front and center. On May 8, 2025, BET unveiled the list of nominees, showcasing a strong presence of Afrobeats artists.
Leading the pack is Ayra Starr, who earned three nominations. She will compete in the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Best New Artist, and Best International Act categories. Her rise in global music continues to impress.
Tems followed with two nominations under the BET Her category, thanks to her powerful singles Burning and Hold On. Both songs highlight her voice and message of empowerment.
Meanwhile, Burna Boy, Rema, and Shallipopi each received one nod. Burna Boy is in the running for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Rema for Best International Act, and Shallipopi for Best New International Act.
Across the board, American rapper Kendrick Lamar leads with ten nominations. Right behind him are Drake, Future, Doechii, and GloRilla, each scoring six nods.
The awards ceremony will take place on June 9, 2025, at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. BET will air the event live, promising a night filled with music, celebration, and unforgettable moments.
